I was just approved for a new health care plan with United Health Care, except an exclusionary rider was placed so that I cannot get treatment on one of my knees that tend to dislocate. I dont know. But I had childhood leukemia and I can get real insurance now. If, I can get good insurance after cancer, you should be able to get complete coverage after a knee injury. |

No, you will have to reapply in 2014 for another policy, and then THAT policy won't have the exclusionary rider on it.
Assuming this doesn't get repealled, you can expect the new policy in 2014 to cost you 3 - 4 times what this current one is costing you. |

Obama's health care plan did not go through. Nothing will happen with Obama's health care bill, because it was already rejected.
The health care plan that did go through was Congress's health care bill, not Obama's.
In 2014, you will be able to get an individual plan without this rider. I am not sure if you will be able to have the rider removed from this individual plan or you will need to get another individual plan to replace this one. Either way, you will be able to have an individual plan without the rider.
Unless the bill is repealed before 2014. |

No. You've already bought that policy so that's what it is based on. You will need to buy a new plan and they won't exclude the pre-existing condition, but you will pay dearly for it to be covered. AND, since it will be illegal to rider something off you can't say, 'why don't you just exclude that and give me a lower premium.'
You could consider another company now to see if they'll not add the rider. Your broker should have gone through how each company underwrite. UHC will rider things off whereas other companies might charge you additional premium but cover it. That's what I would have explained to you. |
